He was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was avoiding writing any.

Paul Kidby discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld in 1993 and since then has devoted his working life to the place. He is the illustrator of The Discworld Imaginarium, The Art of Discworld and The Last Hero, among countless other titles.
