The season of Advent traditionally involved meditation upon the ‘Four Last Things’: heaven, hell, death, and judgement. This ancient but nearly lost sacred art of contemplation encouraged Christians to evaluate who they were, what they treasured and how they ought to live in view of the world to come. Paul Dominiak is Senior Tutor and Fellow in Theology at Jesus College, Cambridge. He was previously Chaplain to Trinity College Cambridge, Dean and Fellow of Jesus College, and then Vice Principal of Westcott House. Among other publications, he is the author of the 2023 Lent book The Falling of Dusk.
