The future of the world depends on the relationship between people of widely different religions. A true meeting: supported by Hindus as well as Christians. A guided tour of Hindu life, and relations to Christians in many parts of the world. Does not compare doctrines, but introduces people. Hinduism may be the Islam of the future, and India is a rapidly developing nation. The historical background as well as the story of migration are explored, so that the reader can understand why Hindus relate quite differently in Britain, in Scandinavia and in the US. Hinduism has many western forms, especially in the US, and a powerful presence in Leicester and London.
Andrew Wingate recently retired as Director of the St Philips Centre for Study and Engagement in a Multi Faith Society, in Leicester, and has worked and taught Comparative religion and Theology, and the theology of relations to other faiths in Sweden, Cambridge, in North and South India. He was Principal of the College of the Ascension, Selly Oak, Birmingham, and Principal of the West Midlands Ordination course, and is now Honorary Lecturer at Birmingham University, and De Montfort University , and Visiting Lecturer at the Cambridge Theological Federation.
