Naomi Howarth is back with another beautiful and inspiring picture book sure to become an instant favourite for children everywhere. Follow the heartwarming story of Maud the dragon and discover how she finds the courage to be different.

“I wish I could fly, and breathe fire, and fill the sky with great grey, sooty clouds,” Maud said to her friend, Mouse.

Maud is picked on by the other dragons, so stays cooped up in her cave, sad and lonely. But when the chance comes, will her friend Mouse help her pluck up the courage to fly?

A touching and beautiful picture book about individuality and friendship from Naomi Howarth, whose first book The Crow's Tale was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize.

The perfect bedtime read for parents and children everywhere that will help readers young and old learn that being a little bit different is a wonderful thing.
NAOMI HOWARTH was born and brought up in Edinburgh, Scotland, and studied Costume for Performance at the London College of Fashion, where she graduated with a First in 2010. She worked in the film industry for eighteen months before deciding to pursue a career in illustration. Over the past year she has been mentored by Catherine Rayner as part of Booktrust Scotland's Picture Hooks scheme. Naomi's illustrations combine lithography with watercolour, and she has a strong interest in myth, legend and folklore. The Crow's Tale, her first published book, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. Her second picture book, Tug of War, will be published by Frances Lincoln Children's Books in August 2017. Naomi lives in west London.
