The 14th Dalai Lama, renowned as a moral leader and spiritual teacher worldwide, is famous as a peacemaker yet stands as an unwavering fighter for the freedom of the Tibetan people, and above all, for their spiritual and physical culture.

This new original biography in graphic novel form, sensitively researched and written by Tom Taylor and stunningly illustrated by Matyaš Namai, with the approval of the Office of His Holiness, tells the inspiring story of Tenzin Gyatso, born to be the 14th Dalai Lama, and offers remarkable insights into the dramatic events of his life and times, together with profound meditations on the path to inner peace and harmony within the world.

Author and screenwriter Tom Taylor signed his deal for his first feature TV film Castaways (2002) with Czech state television at the age of 17. He worked as an executive producer and director in TV and film for both adult an children's programming. He has since emerged as a significant writer and publisher in the international world of the graphic novel, working with some of the finest artists in the Czech Republic, with a growing list of high-quality and classic productions.  Matyaš Namai studied graphic design at the High School of Advertising in Prague. He now works as a freelance artist and is mainly involved in illustrations, comics and occasional storyboards. He is the illustrator of the bestselling George Orwell's 1984, also published by Palazzo.
