For some making it to London 2012 has been literally a matter of life and death and the struggle is not over yet. Get the inside track into the true stories behind Olympic success from the team that presented the multi-award-winning show Motherland, the hit of the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Prize draws on interviews with past Olympic medal winners and aspiring first-time competitors. Full of sacrifice, tragedy and touching humour, these stories are brought to life with dynamic physicality taking the audience on a journey – the inside experience of being an elite athlete striving for the ultimate prize.

Richard Stockwell began his career writing for commercial theatre. His thriller Killing Time toured the UK in 1998 and has been produced fifteen times in nine countries and six languages. Future Shock played at the Manchester 24/7 Festival 2011 and won the Drama Association of Wales' award for Best One-Act Play in 2011. Richard wrote for Eastenders for two years.

Steve Gilroy is a writer and director whose work has attracted critical acclaim and awards including a Fringe First, The Stage Best Ensemble Award, and The Spirit of the Fringe Award for his play Motherland. Steve is Artistic Director of the company Murmur and Associate Director at Newcastle's Live Theatre.
