Julia Donaldson, the 2011-2013 Children's Laureate, is the outrageously talented, prize-winning author of the world's most-loved picture books including The Gruffalo and What the Ladybird Heard. She lives in Glasgow with her husband and spends a lot of time touring the country doing readings – and singing!
Lucy Richards has always loved art and after winning an award from Hallmark for her final university show, it didn't take long for her to establish herself as a much-loved illustrator within children's publishing. As well as 'Night Monkey Day Monkey', she has also illustrated two Reading Ladder books – 'Mairi's Mermaid' by Michael Morpurgo (best-selling author of 'War Horse') and 'The Quick Brown Fox Cub' by Julia Donaldson (best-selling author of 'The Grufallo'). She lives in Bristol.
