“A lively adaptation of the traditional Irish folk song ‘The Rattlin’ Bog’, this musical picturebook showcases the brilliant bog and the creatures that call it their home” – Inis magazine
Ro, ro, the rattlin’ bog, the bog down in the valley-o! In an Irish peat bog, a rattlin’ (Irish slang for “wonderful”) tree contains a rattlin’ nest, which contains a rattlin’ egg, which contains a rattlin’ bird . . . all the way down to a seed of a brand-new rattlin’ tree. This traditional Irish tune, sung by a traditional Irish band, invites readers to join the lively fun and discover the bog's hidden treasures!

Brian Fitzgerald is the inaugural winner of The International Silent Book Award at the Bologna Book Fair in 2014. He has collaborated with Emmy Award winners "The Texas Tenors" on two of their picture books and his book Be Thankful For Trees with author Harriet Ziefert is included on syllabi in schools across the United States. His latest book with acclaimed author Jeanne Willis is The Bear who had Nothing to Wear. Brian lives and works in a small port town in Dublin, Ireland.
The Speks is Ireland's first traditional Irish music band for kids and their families. The six members, Quince, Naymon, Tommo, Pete, Ed, and Rafferty, live on a magical island off the coast of County Clare, Ireland. It's called Glasses Island because everybody wears glasses there. The lads love singing, dancing, and playing music. Their motto is: "Sing along and sing aloud!".
