The Watch Book Hanhart is dedicated to this renowned German watch brand with a long tradition in the watch industry. Since 1882, Hanhart has been producing high-quality timepieces renowned for their precision and quality. From the world’s first affordable mechanical stopwatch to the 417 ES, the Bundeswehr’s first pilot’s chronograph, which was also worn by movie star Steve McQueen. This book tells the story of the brand and also sheds light on the German watch industry, which enjoys an excellent international reputation and stands for craftsmanship, innovation and reliability.

Text in English and German.

Gisbert L. Brunner, born in 1947, has been involved with precision timepieces of all kinds since the 1960s, primarily wristwatches. During the quartz watch crisis in the 1970s, his love for the seemingly dying mechanical timepieces increased even more. His passion for collecting led to his first articles in the early 1980s. In the meantime, Brunner has published more than 25 books on the subject. He is in demand worldwide as a lecturer.
