Peter Jarvis is Professor of Continuing Education at the University of Surrey. He is a well known author and editor and amongst his latest books are: Towards a Comprehensive Theory of Human Learning (2006); Human Learning: a holistic perspective (edited with Stella Parker – 2005); Adult Education and Lifelong Learning: theory and practice (2004 0 3rd edition) The Theory and Practice of Learning (2003 with J Holford and Colin Griffin – second edition). All published by Routledge. He is also founding editor of the International Journal of Lifelong Education.
