‘There is a Season’ is the first children’s book from Kerri Cunningham, also known as Murphys Sketches. A collection of poems to guide you through each season of the year. It takes you on a journey from April showers in spring, to the frosty mornings of winter and everything wonderful in between. Celebrating all that nature has to show us and the little things that we can enjoy together throughout the year, it encourages you to get outside and look for and talk about signs of spring, summer, autumn and winter. You can pick up ‘There is a Season’ and dive into crunchy autumn leaves or wander through a summer meadow with Kerri’s poems and cosy and colourful illustrations that sit alongside each one.
Kerri Cunningham aka Murphy's Sketches is a writer and artist from Preston in Lancashire. She lives in a small village with her husband and three children. She has always loved drawing and writing and went to study Fine Art many years ago at UCLAN. In recent years she has used her sketches and writing to bring some joy to people’s day via her social media platform – Murphy's Sketches. She writes a column for a local magazine each month called Lancashire Life where she talks about her experiences as a Mum, and she works full time as an artist and writer selling cards and prints. She loves to spend time outside with her family and is so pleased to combine her love of the outdoors, of making the most of all the little things through out the year and of writing in her first children’s book ‘There is a Season.’
