Why does a slug leave behind that slimy trail? How can it even see? And what’s going on when it suddenly pulls its whole head back into its body?

This Is What A Slug Does is the first book in a brilliantly funny, fact-packed non-fiction series that takes a closer look at the strange lives of animals.

Full of digging, chomping, sliming and general oddness. Because that is what a slug does.

Mimi May is a children’s book author living in London, UK, where she writes stories about the wonderful world of nature. When she’s not dreaming up stories or researching silly facts, she is being supervised by her two extremely opinionated cats.

Aniek Bartels is a Dutch illustrator known for her playful, character-driven artwork and quirky animals. A graduate of the Willem de Kooning Academy, she has illustrated children’s books like Vleertje Muis and Een Kleintje Erbij. She is based in Amsterdam.
