“You can’t even shit… You’re being outskilled by the most primitive life forms on Earth”

Repressed rage; entrenched isolation; compacted bowels. Staring deep into the destructive ego of the modern man, Rob Hayes masterfully dissects the world of relationships, defecating and surviving in this testosterone-triggered tragi-comedy. Collaborating with critically acclaimed director Clive Judd, Hayes injects dark humour, candid observation and arresting imagery to confront our existing understanding of masculinity at blistering pace.

Rob Hayes's plays include Step 9 (Of 12), which ran at the Trafalgar Studios in 2012, starring Blake Harrison and directed by Tom Attenborough. It had previously been produced at the New Britannia Theatre. Rob is currently adapting it for the screen on behalf of John Stanley Films. In 2011, A Butcher Of Distinction received its premiere at The Cock Tavern before transferring to The King’s Head, directed by Ned Bennett. The play was revived at The Old 505 Theatre in Sydney, and The Cockpit Theatre in 2013. His latest play, Awkward Conversations with Animals I've Fucked, ran at the Underbelly throughout the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A separate production premiered in Sydney, before transferring to the Melbourne Theatre Festival.
