"Time to Talk" is about the experience of having a child with early difficulties in learning to talk. It is based on the accounts of the parents of 20 children who took part in a research project, evaluating the effectiveness of community-based speech and language therapy for pre-school children.

The book aims to provide infromation for parents and professionals working with young children about the difficulties that may arise in their speech and language development. It also explores how referral to speech and language may be undertaken and describes what attendance at speech and language therapy may entail. While the focus throughout the book is on the parents' responses to their children's difficulties and the therapy process they underwent, the parents' accounts are supplemented with information from other research carried out in the field of early speech and language delays.

Margaret Glogowska is the author of Time to Talk: Parent's Accounts of Children's Speech Difficulties, published by Wiley.
