A radiant ode to family love in its many forms, from award-winning author Winsome Bingham and New York Times bestselling illustrator Joy Hwang Ruiz
Whether biking or hiking, baking or caking, breakdancing or tap-dancing—or simply living, laughing, and loving—we were meant to be together.
And during those times when we can’t be together, we have the memories that imprint our minds and the knowledge that Together is in our hearts.
Featuring a diverse array of families and circumstances, this tender picture book is an ode to togetherness that also acknowledges the difficult times when being together isn’t possible—while reassuring young readers that “together” will come again.
With spare, moving text by award-winning author Winsome Bingham and warm, inclusive illustrations by New York Times bestselling illustrator Joy Hwang Ruiz, Together celebrates the joy of time spent with loved ones and the family bonds that connect us whether we’re near or far.
Winsome Bingham is a soul food connoisseur, master cook, U.S. Army war and disabled veteran, and the author of one of the New York Times Best Books of the Year, Soul Food Sunday (illustrated by C.G. Esperanza), as well as The Walk (illustrated by E.B. Lewis). She received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and has more than 15 years of teaching experience. She lives in Connecticut. Joy Hwang Ruiz enjoys capturing the magical and fleeting moments of parenthood as she tries to figure out what it’s all about. Her illustrations celebrate love in families and embrace inclusivity. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Southern California.
