The enchanting world of steam captured the imagination of Bob Gordon when, as a boy, he spent Saturday mornings stoking a Cornish boiler in a steam-powered laundry. Ever since then he has had an affinity with steam and a love of the evocative smell of hot oil and coal smoke.
