Join author Andrew Biel on a unique and fascinating journey as he helps build a human body in motion, step-by-step. TRAIL GUIDE TO MOVEMENT uses the same encouraging voice and subtle humor as the iconic TRAIL GUIDE TO THE BODY, making the study of human movement easy to understand, captivating and memorable. Instead of dissecting the body into smaller, isolated pieces, Biel's TRAIL GUIDE TO MOVEMENT's unique approach builds the body into larger, interconnected components. The book designs four key structures for movement: connective tissue, joints, muscles and nerves. After applying some biomechanical principles, the reader puts the body to the test by exploring concepts of posture and gait. The book includes free study tools for students. TRAIL GUIDE TO MOVEMENT won the gold medal in the PubWest Book Design Awards.
With an enthusiasts outlook, a pioneers hunger and instructors unique perspective, Andrew Biel founded Books of Discovery in 1997. He is the author of TRAIL GUIDE TO THE BODY and TRAIL GUIDE TO MOVEMENT and an expert in palpatory anatomy. He has served on the faculties of Boulder College of Massage Therapy, Seattle Massage School and has taught Cadaver Studies for Bodyworkers at Bastyr University. In 2011 Andrew received the Massage Therapy Foundations Humanitarian Award for his dedication to advancing the massage therapy profession. Andrew lives outside of Port Townsend, Washington, with his family -- Lyn, Grace and Elias.
