Amazon knows the products we’re interested in and shows us more to boost the size of our shopping cart. Google Maps knows the best route to get from A to B and recommends it to get us there in the shortest possible time. Netflix knows the media we enjoy most and recommends more to boost streaming time. However, many companies still fall short with their data analytics practices.

This book focuses on how to embed advanced analytics directly into daily business operations and complement an enterprise system. This book can guide you in how traditional industries like retailers, banks and insurers can utilise and develop advanced analytics complementing their enterprise systems while embedding advanced analytics directly to optimise revenue and customer experience. Detailed in this book is a world-class analytics application used by loyalty point providers, banks, insurers and leading retailers.

The title also provides a step-by-step implementation framework for Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Offices to develop their advanced analytics capabilities in tandem with legacy IT systems.

Jason Tan is the owner of DDA Labs and The Analytics Show (TAS) podcast. Together with his team, they develop and embed analytics into business operations to optimise results for insurers and financial service companies. At TAS, Jason interviews top business leaders worldwide on using data science to run a high-performing modern organisation. The goal behind TAS is to help data and analytics leaders break through barriers and get out of their shells to have their voices heard confidently. Through the podcast, listeners and guests alike are able to attain the skills needed for delivering business benefits through data.

Brian Ferris is the Chief Data and Technology Officer at Loyalty New Zealand, leading the data, analytics and technology teams. Loyalty New Zealand runs New Zealand’s most loved loyalty programme – Flybuys – as well as the Lab360 precision marketing team. Over the past four years, the teams have completed an agile transformation and a full migration to the cloud, decommissioning the legacy data centres. In addition, the data management and precision marketing stacks have been completely revamped with artificial intelligence and machine learning tooling in a flexible modern architecture. Prior to Loyalty NZ, Brian ran Enterprise Data and Analytics for Nike in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and before that, he held senior data and analytics roles at Heineken, BAT and the European Central Bank. Brian’s focus through all of his roles has been transforming people and cultures to deliver real business value from the data assets.
