A cave explorer falls into a deep chasm in Wales. Two men are buried alive when an earthquake strikes a gold mine in Australia. A toddler becomes stuck after plunging into an abandoned well in the United States. These remarkable true tales could have ended in tragedy... but they didn’t! What happened to these people when they became trapped underground? And how did they survive to tell their tales? Young readers will find out in this easy-to-read hi-lo graphic novel that will keep them on the edge of their seats!
Myra Faye Turner is a New Orleans-based poet and author. She has written for grownups, but prefers writing for young readers. She has written two dozen nonfiction books for children and young adults, covering diverse topics like politics, the Apollo moon landing, edible insects, and U.S. history. When she’s not writing, she spends her days reading, napping, and drinking coffee. Daniele Dickmann is a freelance artist born and raised in Rome, Italy. He graduated from the IED (Europe Institute of Design), where he’s now a professor. His career began as a visual and storyboard artist for advertising companies and movie productions. Daniele has since gone on to work for Usborne Publishing and many other publishing houses, illustrating historical series and fiction tales for young readers.
