Triumph Stag: The Essential Buyers Guide

English

By (author): Norm Mort Tony Fox

Stag enthusiast Norm Mort teams up with Stag restorer and expert Tony Fox to write this handy pocket-size guide. Triumphs Stag combined the smoothness and performance of a V8 in stylish Italian coachwork designed by Giovanni Michelotti, which allowed for both closed and open grand touring. This Essential Buyers Guide examines the models history, evolution, features, fittings, performance and typical problem areas through detailed text and colour photographs of both restored and original examples. Like Veloces other Essential Buyers Guides this book features chapters such as Is it the right car for you?, a very detailed checklist for rating a potential Stag purchase, advice on deciding whether or not to restore a Stag, paint problems, issues that can arise through under-use, and lists of clubs and spares specialists. Tony Fox bought his first Stag in 1991, and a total of ten other Stags came and went in the years that followed. He is a director for the Triumph Stag Club, USA and coordinator for the Stag in the Toronto Triumph Club. A Triumph and Stag enthusiast, Norm Mort has written for car magazines and newspapers for the past 25 years. This is his fourth book on automotive history and restoration. See more

About Norm MortTony Fox

Canadian Norm Mort has had a lifelong interest in historic vehicles and by the age of 10 was photographing old vehicles parked by the side of the road; by the age of 12 he was the youngest member on the executive of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada. After graduating from the University of Toronto Norm became a teacher and librarian in the public school system. However it was not long before his love of old cars and trucks led him to become a freelance automotive writer for magazines and newspapers in the field of transport which he has now done for over 30 years. Norm has written over a dozen books about historic vehicles and has become Canada's most prolific writer on old cars and trucks. Norm is also an animal lover and has written books about travelling with pets (combining both of his passions) and about living with a pet menagerie. Norm lives in Canada with Scottish wife Sandy and a variety of pets. Their son Andrew has been the photographer for all of Norm's books.
