Karen Shapiro was a children’s book author and publishing manager at Sourcebooks who loved to make kids smile through the wonder of storytelling. With imagination, humor, and a little training from the Wonderland Academy of Wacky Science and Unusual Magic, she helped create books to delight readers of all ages, including the bestselling How to Catch series. Her stories—and a bit of her mischief—continue to spread joy and giggles with every turn of the page.
RACHEL FOO is an illustrator, born in a Malaysian town famous for its beansprouts. She graduated with Honors in Illustration from Curtin University in Australia and worked for several years as a concept artist and visual developer at several indie game development studios in Melbourne before returning to Malaysia to work full time as an illustrator. Her main inspirations are nature and celebrating the joy in the ordinary. When she is not illustrating, she enjoys hiking in the rainforest, urban skating and sharing the joy of making art with children.
