Chin, a fifth generation Malaysian Chinese chef, and his mum Choo, hail from a family that have been cooking Chinese street food for over 70 years. Their family business started in the 1950s in Borneo, before migrating to Somerset where Chin and Choo have owned a restaurant for years. In 2022 and in 2024 their restaurant, Ziangs on the Avenue, was one of the three finalists in the 'Best Street Food' category of the UK-wide Golden Chopsticks Awards, hosted by Gok Wan.
