Harriet Beecher Stowe (14 June 1811- 1 July 1896) was an American Author and abolitionist. She was well known for her writings as well as her public stances on political and social issues of the day. R. H. Livingstone (1873-1944) born in Chicago Illinois, was a writer and illustrator who worked for National Allied Publications, the predecessor to the modern DC comics publishing house. John Parker (1917-2004) was an American artist who started illustrating magazines and painted covers in the 1940s. He began to paint covers for Classics Illustrated Comics in 1956 and eventually taught illustration at the Ivy School of Professional Art.
