Meet Louie, a unicorn searching for stardom in New York City!
A hilarious series, with a unique visual approach, combining real New York photography with character illustrations. Perfect for 7-9 year olds that love funny fiction and bonkers characters. The fourth instalment in this hilarious series by Rachel Hamilton.
Dear Mum and Dad
The New York School for Performing Arts is the perfect place for a unicorn like me. So far it has been totally AWESOME!
My friend Miranda has landed the lead role in the hottest new musical in town! Everyone says she's turned into a huge DIVA but she still looks like a fishy-tailed mermaid to me.
Louie xx
Miranda the Mermaid is the talk of the town. Her face is on posters, her tail is on t-shirts, and her name is up in lights. But when fame goes to her head it's up to Louie to remind her of who her friends are.
Rachel Hamilton studied at Oxford and Cambridge and has put her education to good use working in an ad agency, a school, a building site and a men's prison. Her interests are books, films, stand-up comedy and cake, and she loves to make people laugh, especially when it's intentional rather than accidental.
The first book in the series, Louie Lets Loose, was her first book for OUP.
Born in Spain, almost from day one Oscar could be found with a pen and a paper in his hand, he loved to draw - anything and everything. As soon as he was old enough he collected all his crayons and moved to America where he studied Commercial Art.
After graduating he relocated to London and now he spends his time coming and going between London and Madrid.
He works mainly in digital format... Although he is quite handy with watercolours too.
