That Ute Eitzenhöfer’s jewellery is related to contemporary phenomena is beyond any doubt. In particular, our power and powerlessness in dealing with meanwhile highly complex communication are a source of inspiration for her works. Ute Eitzenhöfer (born 1969 in Bruchsal, DE) was trained as a goldsmith at the vocational school for goldsmiths in Pforzheim, took her journeyman’s examination in Karlsruhe and graduated from Pforzheim University in 1996 with a diploma in jewellery and tableware. She has been freelance since 1996 and in 2005 was appointed professor of gemstone design at Trier University of Applied Sciences Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Gemstones and Jewellery at the ldar-Oberstein campus. Her works are exhibited internationally in museums and galleries and are held in public and private collections.
