A brutally funny fever dream about teenagers, desire and female friendship from Miriam Battye (Strategic Love Play, Succession).

We go in, pick one boy each to pull, do that pulling, then come home and eat the chicken dippers I've put in the fridge for us. At what part of that is dying occurring.

Friday night. Four girls. Two boys. Alone in a house. Some of them are in love. Most of them are virgins.
Everyone is pretending to know what they're doing.

Tonight, that's all going to change.

The Virgins opened at Soho Theatre, London, in January 2026.

Miriam Battye is a writer from Manchester. Her plays include Scenes with girls (Royal Court), Strategic Love Play (Paines Plough, Edinburgh Fringe) and an adaptation of Rebecca Watson's little scratch (Hampstead Theatre), which was directed by Katie Mitchell.
