The book is based on Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s speeches, press conferences, proclamations, and letters. Wolfgang Mieder is Professor Emeritus of German and Folklore at the University of Vermont, where he taught for fifty years. Among his many honors are honorary doctorates from the Universities of Athens, Bucharest, and Vermont.
