Mick Jackson is a writer from Lancashire, who now lives in Brighton. He studied drama and was a singer in a band, before enrolling on the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia. His first novel, The Underground Man, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, the Whitbread First Novel Award and won the Royal Society of Authors’ First Novel Award. He has since written three more novels, a novella and many picture books for children including The Red Sledge illustrated by Victoria Ball. Rashin Kheiriyeh was born in Iran and studied graphic design at the University of Tehran. She has previously worked for newspapers such as The New York Times and Le Monde Diplomatique, and has published over 45 books for children worldwide, including Eli and the Uncles by Jehan Madhani.
