William L. Fibkins, Ph.D, a writer, lecturer, and education consultant, holds degrees in school administration and counselor education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Syracuse University. His publications include The Empowering School... Getting Everyone on Board to Help Teenagers (1995), Preventing Teacher Sexual Misconduct (1996), Tobacco Interventions (1997) and Teacher-As Helper Training Manual (1998). He is also the author of numerous journal articles on topics including restructuring middle schools, training secondary school teachers to be effective advisors, and restructuring school guidance and counseling programs.Dr. Fibkins served as founder and director of the Bay Shore Public Schools-Stony Brook University Teacher Center, director of the Queens College-Louis Armstrong Intermediate School Project, and founder of the Student Assistance Counseling Program at Shoreham-Wading River Public Schools. He also helped develop the teacher advisory training program at ShorehamWading River Middle School and served as chair of the Curriculum Development Committee. He also was a professor in the school administration program at Queens College and has been selected to participate in the Phi Delta Kappa International author seminar-lecture program.
