WHAT WOULD JESUS READ? gives readers a new way to do their daily devotionals. Based on the devotions and the teachings of an ancient system of Bible reading that existed during Jesus lifetime, these daily devotionals will bring readers closer to Jesus than ever before.

During the Babylonian exile, the Torah scrolls-the first five books of the Bible-were destroyed leaving the Jews of exile without their teachings. Out of this predicament came a systematic cycle of reading the Scriptures.

The leaders allotted specific Bible texts to each family. Each and every week as people gathered in the synagogue, the family in charge of that week's portion of the Scripture would get up, recite the passage, and then teach the people. This system of reading became so popular that it is still in existence to this very day.

Using this method of devotions will not only bring readers a better understanding of Jesus, but it will allow them to read as Jesus read.
