What is school like for kids around the world? Let’s take a look.

This fascinating nonfiction book for kids explores 15 schools in different countries and cultures, showing how children learn in many surprising ways. Young readers travel from classrooms in Japan to schools in the Himalayas, from rainforest learning spaces to schools on boats. Along the way, they discover that while some schools look familiar, others are shaped by geography, culture, and daily life in ways that are completely different.

Each chapter is guided by a local child who introduces readers to their school and learning environment, offering a personal and relatable perspective. Perfect for curious kids, this book helps readers understand that there is no single way to learn and that differences in education reflect the richness of cultures around the world. Ideal for independent reading, classroom discussions, or global studies, this book encourages curiosity, empathy, and an appreciation for how kids everywhere experience school.
