Folsom, USMC, has a bachelor of arts in international relations from the University of Virginia, USA a master of arts in national security affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a master of arts in strategic studies from the Marine Corps War College. He is the author of The Highway War: A Marine Company Commander in Iraq and In the Gray Area: A Marine Advisor Team at War. He lives in Woodbridge, Virginia, with his wife, Ashley, and his daughters, Emery and Kinsey.
