The 'Why in the World' series introduces citizenship topics in a sensitive way with heartfelt illustrations, helping to connect children's own experiences to larger issues in the world

Everyone has a home. Other people's homes might look different to our own. Sometimes we need to move to a new home. This book looks at why people move home, whether it's by choice, or because other factors have forced them to leave their home. It looks at ways we can help people to feel welcome in new places.

Full of empathy and emotion, the books in this series are an excellent first look at local and global challenges. The notes included for parents and teachers offer a springboard for healthy discussion at home and in the classroom.

Judith Heneghan writes fiction and non-fiction for children. She runs the MA Writing for Children at the University of Winchester. Judith has four teenage children, a labrador, a snake and a gecko. Award-winning illustrator, Renia Metallinou, studied graphic design in the Athenian Design College (AKTO) and a few years later, studied fashion design, after winning a two-year scholarship. Living a few miles from Athens near the sea, she is now a full time illustrator, creating books for publishers in Greece and abroad.
