Lekan Balogun (Foreword) holds a PhD in Shakespeare and Intercultural Performance (Victoria University of Wellington) and BA and MA in Theatre Arts (University of Lagos Akoka). He has held fellowships at National University of Ireland, Galway (Visiting Fellow); University of Cape Town (Andrew W. Mellon); University of Bayreuth (Experienced Researcher); and Universität zu Köln (Georg Forster Researcher/Alexander von Humboldt). Balogun has worked in theatre as playwright, director and scholar for over two decades with globally recognized organizations including Royal Court Theatre, London; British Council; Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), Flinn Theater, Germany and the National Troupe of Nigeria. He is one of the leading scholar-performer-creative artists in Nigeria and has published consistently on Shakespeare in Africa (Nigeria) and the diaspora. At present, Balogun is a lecturer (New Writing and Intercultural Performance) in the School of Performance and Cultural Industries (PCI), University of Leeds, UK.
