A beautifully illustrated lift-the-flap board book, Windows to the National Parks takes young children on a grand tour of the most engaging scenery in the United States, Mexico, and Canada! Kids will learn about geography and the natural wonders of North America and pick up new sight words along the way!

When you look out your bedroom window, what do you see? What if you opened your window and saw the sun rising through the giant trees of Sequoia National Park in California? Or over the Grand Canyon? No matter where a young child lives, these imaginative possibilities will delight them and keep them reading!

Windows to the National Parks of North America is an interactive lift-the-flap book that opens windows to reveal the beauty and majesty that exists right in our backyards! Board book readers (infant to age 5) will get a visual sense of the geography of North America, along with the landscape features, flora, and fauna associated with the different regions. And they will pick up some new sight words along the way!

This illustrated children’s board book:

  • Is great for parents, grandparents to share the love of National parks with their children
  • A fun resource for preschool teachers or children librarians to show young, curious minds more about nature
  • Perfect for homeschooling parents or co-ops that want to find engaging sensory ways to explore geography
Hannah Sheldon-Dean?is a writer, editor, and educator specializing in publications for children and young adults. She has written several activity books, nonfiction titles, and gift books with Penguin Young Readers and Whalen Book Works, and she writes and edits fiction, nonfiction, and educational materials for a variety of outlets. She is also a staff writer and editor at the Child Mind Institute and a volunteer mentor with Girls Write Now in New York City. Hannah received a Master’s of Social Work from New York University and a BA in Literary Arts and Education Policy from Brown University, and she loves to work on projects that fall at the intersection of those fields. She lives in Brooklyn but grew up in Vermont, so you might see her wandering the city in search of pine trees, mourning doves, caterpillars, or whatever other bits of nature she can find. She also loves singing with her choir, baking bread, and dreaming about the animal sanctuary she’ll open someday. Find her at?www.hannahsheldon-dean.com. Illustrator Jenny Wren works on children’s book projects, greeting cards, and stationery from her home in Lichfield in Staffordshire. Say hello at www.jennywrendrew.com.
