Rhodesia, 1976. Sixteen-year-old Melonie Johns is torn from her home during a brutal farm attack in the Bush War. Held captive in a terrorist camp across the border in Mozambique, she endures unspeakable cruelty-until a daring escape sets the camp in flames.
But survival comes at a price. Her captor, Solomon Tlale, swears a blood oath of vengeance.
Seeking safety, Melonie's family relocates to her grandmother's stud farm in South Africa, where she discovers healing in the quiet strength of horses and the thrill of the racetrack. With time, courage, and determination, she transforms heartbreak into triumph, rising to prominence as a respected breeder and trainer.
Yet fame cannot silence the past. In the shadows, Tlale waits-patient, relentless, and deadly.
When old enemies return with lethal intent, Melonie must summon every ounce of strength for the darkest-and most dangerous-ride of her life.
Diana Robinson was born in the 1950s in what was Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and grew up on a farm. Animals and nature have always been at the heart of everything she does, particularly with horses. Diana has always loved writing and obtained a distinction in English Literature in her final school year. Diana completed an online course in writing novels though she doesn't believe it is a prerequisite to offering readers page-turning excitement with a carefully executed plot, great characters, and excellent dialogue. It's all about a brilliant story, no matter where it is set.
Diana has written articles for Equestrian magazines, hospitality magazines and newspapers.
Diana writes multiple genres and non-fiction. Adventure/crime/family saga/thriller and suspense.
She is well-travelled and has had an interesting and varied life on the African continent. England is now her home.
