A family fractures under holiday lights. A golfer wanders frozen fairways chasing a fading dream. A washed‑up screenwriter stakes everything on a Christmas wish. A young couple takes a snowy train ride home.

Few writers capture the winter season's magic and mischief like F. Scott Fitzgerald. With his signature flair for glamour and romance, he is a master of the American short story - and these six shimmering tales, set between icy small towns, bustling city streets and the sparkle of holiday parties, gather Fitzgerald at his most charming, witty and alive.

F. Scott Fitzgerald was born in 1896 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is best known for his novels depicting the flamboyance and excess of the Jazz Age - a term he popularized in his short story collection Tales of the Jazz Age. His first novel, This Side of Paradise, was published in 1920 and was a tremendous critical and commercial success. Fitzgerald followed with The Beautiful and the Damned, The Great Gatsby and Tender is the Night. He was working on The Last Tycoon when he died, in Hollywood, in 1940.
