Oscar Abolafia (1935–2020) grew up in New York. He learned the craft from photographer William Vandivert, one of the founders of Magnum Photos. During his lifetime, Abolafia built an extensive collection of rare, intimate portraits of the greatest icons in entertainment, sports, and politics of the past five decades.
