Charise and Casey have been best friends for years. It never mattered that Casey was older by two years - until she started high school. Now, the two barely talk, and Charise is on a mission to get a new best friend. But can she find that perfect person while navigating long-distance friendships, guinea pig allergies, and the embarrassing quirks of her family? This fresh and honest autobiographical story is perfect for fans of Real Friends and Click!
Charise Mericle Harper has written more than fifty books for children-not that she counted, but once, when she visited a school, a kid put his hand up and said, "You wrote fifty-four books. I counted them on Amazon." These include the beginning reader book The Good for Nothing Button! and the Crafty Cat, Fashion Kitty, and Just Grace series. Charise also wrote and illustrated the weekly comic strip Eye Spy. She previously collaborated with artist Rory Lucey on the graphic memoir Bad Sister. Rory Lucey is the author-illustrator of the graphic novel SCRAM: Society of Creatures Real and Magical. He also illustrated Bad Sister from First Second, as well as wrote and illustrated Jonesy: Nine Lives on the Nostromo from Titan Books. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Nerdist, Gizmodo, Collider, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. Born in London and raised throughout the Midwest, he holds a B.F.A. in printmaking from Washington University and an M.A. in teaching from the Rhode Island School of Design. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and two cats.
