The first full-length adventure from Gosho Aoyama, the legendary creator of Case Closed!

Yaiba Kurogane is an energetic young swordsman who’s grown up training to be a samurai in the jungle with his father, Kenjuro. When they return to Japan, chaos seems to follow wherever Yaiba goes! Destined to be a legendary hero, Yaiba must learn to be a true samurai and save the world!

While Yaiba and Onimaru battle it out, a new enemy appears—Kaguya, the Moon Princess! Armed with fearsome power and a thousand-year-old grudge, Kaguya sets her sights on Yaiba, who has inherited the spirit of the Dragon God. A three-way battle begins between Yaiba, Onimaru, and Kaguya. If Kaguya can sideline Onimaru, she’ll turn her attention to Yaiba and the Dragon God while her minion, Mangetsu, hatches a plan to flood Tokyo! When Kaguya finally reveals her true form, it’s scarier than anyone could have imagined!
Gosho Aoyama made his debut in 1986 with Chotto Mattete (Wait a Minute), which won Shogakukan’s prestigious Shinjin Comic Taisho (Newcomer’s Award for Comics) and launched his career as a critically acclaimed, top-selling manga artist. In addition to Case Closed, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001, Aoyama created the popular manga Yaiba: Samurai Legend, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1992. Aoyama’s manga is greatly influenced by his boyhood love for mystery, adventure, and baseball, and he has cited the tales of Arsène Lupin and Sherlock Holmes, along with the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, as some of his childhood favorites.
