Sam Holloway is 26 years old, and since a terrible tragedy struck in his life, he's lost faith in the world. As a means of keeping his grief at bay, he needs everything to be just so - he has a strict routine, from which he rarely deviates, and if he focuses on this, and on his mundane job at a Japanese electronics office, he can just about avoid confronting the unbearable loneliness of his life.

But, three nights a week, Sam leaves his small insignificant life behind, dons his carefully constructed superhero costume, and patrols the streets of his community - preventing crime, protecting the vulnerable, an acting as a power for good.

When Sam is wearing his superhero costume, he feels invincible. But his superhero activities are getting him into some sticky, and increasingly dangerous situations.

And when a girl comes into his life - a beautiful, perfect girl who actually thinks he is worth talking to - it throws his careful routines into chaos.

Sam needs to decide whether he can be brave enough to take a chance on love. And believing that something good can come after all the pain.
