About Paul Rogers
At the age of sixty-three; Paul Rogers has spent his whole life freshwater angling. In childhood for anything that swam; as an adult he chased the dreams and obsession; to catch the largest fish possible. He stayed unmarried until the age of thirty-nine; up till then he could follow the lonely path that obsession made for him. A selfish lifestyle was rudely interrupted; as he learnt that life means more than spending every hour at the river or lake fishing. His working life from his thirties till early retirement was spent in social work; over a decade in homelessness; followed working in the community with individuals suffering from mental health. His own life has been blighted with his own depression; growing up with low self-esteem; however in his adult years finding a faith enabled him to navigate the path to recovery. Angling was both a healer; if he allowed it; and an influencer of his moods. He has written articles for several angling magazines both carp and barbel. For the last decade he has written continually in Barbel Fisher; some issues having three articles of his inside. He has written two chapters in angling books. This is his first book.
