A shorter history of Goats, Devils & Freemasons: A revised edition of The Goat, the Devil and the Freemason

English

By (author): Dr David J. West

To see how the devil came to look like a goat, we will delve into the Egyptian god Banebdjedet and the Greek god Pan, and explore the early church's problem with sex. To understand how the devil-as-goat became associated with Freemasonry, we will explore the fascinating lives of the occultist Eliphas Levi and the American freemason Albert Pike. We ask whether the devil-as-goat is evil enough, look for other sources of devils, analyse the theological problem of evil, and determine whether the idea of worshipping a devil makes any sense.
