A Sweet Deceit

English

By (author): Lois Schwartz

After Ali deGroots fiancé lies and steals from her, she moves for a fresh beginning and starts up her own promotions business. While she nurses her wounds, her new neighbor charms her into going out for a date. Soon the two are together, but there is more to her neighbor than meets the eye.

Jase VanDam relocated into a new house in an attempt to maintain anonymity. As the owner of chain bakery store A Real Sweetie, hes tired of being chased after by people who only have his money in mind. When he meets Ali, he pretends to be a baker at A Real Sweetie rather than reveal his true identity. A little white lie cant hurt, especially when it is for the good of their relationship.

But Alis had it with lies. When she finds out the truth, she wants nothing to do with Jase. She breaks it off with him and vows never to see him again, even though this means giving up the lucrative promotions account of her dreams with his company.

When disaster strikes one of Jases bakeries, they must find a way to establish trust in their relationship before their love can lead them to the hope of a future together.

About Lois Schwartz

Following grad school Lois Schwartz taught theater at a Midwestern university. During that time she also wrote plays for a touring puppet company she owned and managed. Soon after moving to central New York she opened a costume shop. When her shop was burglarized she wrote her first full-length novel based on her own experiences. That story followed by over a dozen others were all later published as e-books under pen names. Several of her short stories and nonfiction articles have appeared in national publications. In her free time Lois has taught reading to adults through various agencies. Living in the country now she also enjoys quilting gardening and making doll houses but Id rather be writing!
