When Tony Needham, one of the North Yorkshire Building Societys youngest and most dynamic managers, decides to test his employer's security systems he starts an unlikely chain of events that he thinks he can control. Or can he? Was a simple bank error the event that set a dark seed in his mind of exploitation? Was it the gullibility of honest people or the laziness of an incompetent lawyer? As the story progresses easily and engagingly from handsome, loving family man to false identity and suspense, A Tangled Web will quietly take you captive. Initially, it might have you rooting for the main protagonist, then maybe you will change your mind as multi-levelled deceit highjacks innocent people, but ultimately A Tangled Web saves the best until last when it delivers a thriller bombshell ending. Do you become a thief with a single thought or act, or do you slide gently into dishonesty without noticing your feet losing grip on a law-abiding pathway? If only we could recognise when we have reached a fork in the road of life; if only we could know the consequences A Tangled Web is a work of crime fiction that will play with your mind long after you have finished reading it.

About John McArdle
John McArdle is a retired adversarial lawyer living in the North East of England. Starting his first law firm with his business partner at the age of 25 he has spent his professional life fighting for justice for his clients against big businesses in a system that favoured the well off. He chose not to act for big institutions because going home at night thinking that he had preserved a large sum for a big insurance client at the expense of a pensioner didn't make him feel good. Winning a large sum for the pensioner is much more his style and it was upon this ethos that he built his businesses. John is a life-long supporter of Sunderland Football Club and a supporter of the childrens organisation UNICEF. He is now happily retired and lives near Darlington with his wife.
