About Sarah Morris

Sarah Morris (born 1967) lives and works in New York and London. Since the mid-1990s she has been making complex abstract paintings and films. These works are derived from close inspection of architectural details combined with a critical sensitivity to the psychology of a city and its key protagonists. She showed her work in many solo exhibitions including Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin (2001) Moderna Museet in Stockholm (2005) Palais de Tokyo in Paris (2005) Fondation Beyeler in Riehen (2008) and MMK in Frankfurt (2009). Hans Ulrich Obrist was born in Zürich in 1968. He was curator at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and has curated many international exhibitions. In 2006 he was appointed Co-Director of Exhibitions and Programmes and Director of International Projects at the Serpentine Gallery London. His prolific publications on contemporary art include The Conversation Series Do it dontstopdontstopdontstopdontstop A Brief History of Curating.
