About Edward BaranowskiMaría MayberrySam Hill
Sam Hill is professor emeritus of Spanish and Portuguese and has taught all levels of both languages at California State University Sacramento over a 35 year career. His is the primary author of the first two editions of this text. He continues to travel and on occasion is called back to teaching. María Mayberry is associate professor of Spanish at California State University Sacramento and author of several scholarly articles in Hispania. She has a continuing research interest in language acquisition. She teaches graduate seminars in comparative grammars and applied linguistics. Edward Baranowski is professor of Spanish at California State University Sacramento and teaches all levels of Spanish. He has translated several texts written by early Spanish explorers in California. He teaches graduate seminars in dialectology and history of the language.
