Deputy Sheriff Lew Kennett is up against it: the Hap Ivy gang are on the prowl, rustlers are at work and a thief is making himself extremely busy in town. When he sets out to capture an outlaw the situation gets wildly out of hand and whilst surviving an ambush and preventing a lynching, he is caught up in another facet of local crime and has to kill a townsman.
