About Frank PepperKen Mennell

Ken Mennell had an extensive career as an editor for Fleetway working on a variety of classic comics. He had a hand in creating several strips including The Steel Claw and Black Max.Frank Pepper had a lengthy career writing for British comics. From the 1930s onwards he wrote for a wide variety of story papers including The Champion Knockout and The Comet. He is best known as the creator of Roy of the Rovers for Tiger and Captain Condor for Lion. Other well-known strips he worked on include The Spellbinder and Dan Dare. He died in 1988.Born in Barcelona and working as a comic artist since the early 60s Alfonso Font is an artist of international acclaim. During the 70s he drew strips for a variety of publications across Europe producing Black Max for Thunder Sandberg Pere et Fils for Pif magazine and Tequila Bang for La Calle. In the 80s he began to write his own scripts creating award-winning series such as Taxi Dark Stories Clark & Kubrick: Spiritualists Inc. and Jon Rohner. Most recently in 2010 he provided the art for Héloise de Montfort a historical series by Richard Marazano.
