About Ian SinclairPeter Ryan
Ian Sinclair is one of Africa's foremost field birders and a recipient of the prestigious Gill Memorial Medal Award for his contribution to Ornithology in Africa and beyond. The most published author on the birds of Africa he is best known for Sasol Birds of Southern Africa Field Guide to the Birds of Southern Africa Birds of the Indian Ocean Islands and Complete Photographic Field Guide to Birds of Southern Africa. Prof Peter Ryan is an Associate Professor at the Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology University of Cape Town. He has worked on the systematics of African birds but his main research is on seabirds and island conservation. He has written several books including co-authoring the 7th Edition of Roberts Birds of Southern Africa and Complete Photographic Field Guide to Birds of Southern Africa.
